Wholesale Matcha FAQ

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Our direct wholesale MOQ is 10kg, and different grades can be combined to reach it — for example, 5kg of Culinary Matcha and 5kg of Premium Matcha.

Under 10kg, you can buy 1kg bags directly from our online shop, or order through our Ordermentum store if you'd prefer trade invoicing alongside your other suppliers.

Businesses using 10kg or more per month should contact us directly. Regular accounts are quoted individually, based on monthly usage, product selection and ordering frequency.

Do you have matcha stock in Australia?

Yes. All stock is held in a dedicated 0°C cold-storage facility in Melbourne, ready for immediate dispatch. There is no overseas waiting time.

Can you send samples before we order?

Absolutely. We provide sample packs of each grade so you can test quality and develop your menu. We'll also recommend the best grade for your specific application — lattes, baking or straight tea.

How long does delivery take?

Stocked orders are dispatched from Melbourne and generally arrive within five business days in most Australian metropolitan areas. Delivery times vary according to destination, order size and carrier conditions.

Which grade of matcha is best for café lattes?

For most cafés, Premium or Culinary grade delivers the strongest flavour and colour in milk at the best cost per cup. Super Premium suits signature or premium-priced lattes. We'll help you benchmark grades side by side with samples.

Do you provide COA and quality documentation?

Product specifications, batch information and Certificates of Analysis are available for applicable products on request. Available documentation varies according to the selected product, producer and production batch.

Where is your matcha grown?

We source directly from farmers in Japan's premier tea regions: Uji (Kyoto), Shizuoka, Kagoshima, Nishio (Aichi) and Yame (Fukuoka). Single-origin and single-cultivar options are available.

Do you offer better pricing for high-volume accounts?

Yes. Published wholesale rates apply from 10kg per order. Businesses using high volume are quoted individually — ongoing monthly volume is priced more competitively than one-off orders. Multi-site groups, dessert and beverage manufacturers, and private-label projects are welcome to discuss supply agreements.

What Does Matcha Cost Per Serve?

Matcha powder cost per serve is calculated using: Wholesale price per gram × matcha dose

For example, matcha priced at $160 per kilogram costs:

• $0.48 at a 3g dose
• $0.64 at a 4g dose
• $0.80 at a 5g dose

When calculating your final menu margin, add milk, sweetener, cups, lids, labour, payment fees and other operating costs separately. We can help you compare matcha grades according to the required dose and powder cost per serve.
